ABOUT THE PROJECT
The inSing.com Movies app was in desperate need of some love, with an iTunes rating of around 2 stars and many unhappy reviews there was a need for a total revamp from the bottom up.
A love of movies was the driving force for getting this project up and running and as a result I took over much of the visual and interaction design, as well as the business engagement with the client. Simplifying the interface, cleaning up the navigational structure and identifying the key user flows were primary aims of the revamp and the resulting design clearly focuses on the content by removing all other distractions. The overall design of the new app is crisp, clean and simple and caters for both specific goal orientated user tasks or just casual browsing.
New features were added to enhance the experience and they included a full page search that led directly into the ticket purchasing flow, the ability to save upcoming movies and get alerts when their tickets went on sale and a news section. The end result was an app that delivered a great experience to it’s existing users and increased the overall customer base 10 fold and in doing so raised their iTunes and Google Play rating from 2 to over 4 stars.
